What

Mentorship, talks and workshops

Iria XR (Badajoz), Madrid in Game

Communities

CreaXR, Tenerife GG, DiscoverXR

Venice Immersive, hackathons

Product context

Beyond client work, I contribute to the XR and tech ecosystem through mentorship, talks and workshops.

Main challenges

An ecosystem this young does not have a manual yet. The fastest way to build one is to keep showing up and sharing what worked and what did not.

/01

Mentorship

I mentor early-stage founders and studios at Iria XR, an XR incubator based in Badajoz, and at Madrid in Game, supporting videogame projects in incubation and acceleration phases.

Talks & workshops

I run talks and workshops to promote awareness and adoption of emerging technologies, having spoken at CreaXR (the largest Spanish-speaking XR community), Tenerife GG and DiscoverXR.

At CreaXR we run meetups and workshops so that everyone learns from everyone else, and so that the network of people behind all of it keeps growing. On Discord we are now more than 550.

Descubre XR is driven by the Asociación Inmersiva XR and brings several cities together around the worldwide VR Day. We have also spoken at the Meta World Congress, and written and filmed for Realovirtual.

Community

I regularly attend hackathons and industry events to stay connected with fellow creators, producers and the broader XR community.

Keeping up with new technology is a better job when it also means travelling, and meeting other cultures, other kitchens and other places. In 2023 that took me to Venice Immersive, where I tried as many pieces as I could get my hands on across different hardware, plus video mapping and installations.

What stays with you afterwards is the people. Verónica Rodríguez of IAMVR, who I spent most of the festival with, and the team at OddersLab, who I had known for years and finally got to share a few days with.
